This site is run by one person — Jessy Glazewski, an author and teacher. It is not a data business. The short version: the only thing this site collects today is what an adult types into the school-visit form, and it is never sold, never used for advertising, and never collected from children.
If you are a kid reading this
Hi. You do not have to give this website anything — not your name, not your email, nothing. You can read about the books for as long as you like without typing anything in anywhere.
There is one form on this site, on the school visits page. That form is for grown-ups — teachers, librarians, and parents. If you are under 13, please do not fill it in. Ask a parent, a teacher, or your librarian to do it for you.
If you write to Jessy by email, she will write back once and then delete your email address. She will not add you to any list.
1. Who this covers
This policy covers jessyglazewski.com. The person responsible for the information described here is Jessy Glazewski, reachable at jessyglazebooks@gmail.com.
2. What is collected
The school-visit form
This is the only form on the site, and it is labelled for adults. When an adult submits it, the following is stored: their name, their role, their email address, their phone number if given, the school, district and city, the dates and programs they are interested in, roughly how many students would attend, how the visit might be funded, and anything they write in the message box.
This describes a school and an adult contact. It does not identify any individual child, and no child is asked to provide it.
Ordering books
Book ordering is not live yet. When it is, payment will be handled by Stripe, and Stripe — not this site — will receive the card details. This site will receive the name, email, shipping address and order contents needed to send the books. Where a book is being personalised, the inscription text is provided by the adult placing the order.
Email updates
There is no mailing list yet. If one is added, it will be for adults, it will say so plainly, and it will require a deliberate opt-in.
What the server records automatically
The hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard server logs — IP address, browser type, which page was requested — for security and reliability. There is no advertising tracking of any kind on this site.
3. What is never collected
This is a commitment, not a description of the current build:
- Any personal information from a child under 13
- Anyone's date of birth or age
- Children's names, email addresses, or photographs
- Precise location
- Anything at all from someone who simply reads the site
There are no advertising trackers, no Meta Pixel, no ad networks, and no interest-based advertising anywhere on this site. Downloads and resources are free and ungated — nothing has to be handed over to get them.
4. How it is used
- To answer a school-visit enquiry and arrange the visit
- To send books that have been ordered, once ordering is live
- To keep the records required for tax and accounting
- To keep the site working and secure
It is not used for advertising, it is not sold, and it is not shared for cross-context behavioural advertising.
5. Who else sees it
Only the services needed to run the site:
- Supabase — the database, hosted in the United States, where form submissions are stored
- Vercel — hosting and server logs
- Stripe — payments, once ordering is live. Stripe handles card details directly.
- Resend — sending email, if and when that is added
- A shipping carrier, which receives the delivery address for orders
Information may also be disclosed where the law requires it. There is no other sharing.
6. How long it is kept
School-visit enquiries are kept while they are being followed up and as a record of bookings. Order and payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require, which in the United States is generally seven years. A one-off email from a reader is answered once and the address then deleted. Anything no longer needed can be deleted on request — see section 8.
7. Security
Access to stored information is restricted at the database level, so a mistake in the website code cannot expose it. Administrative access requires a sign-in link sent to an approved email address; there is no password to guess or leak. Payment card details never reach this site.
8. Children's privacy (COPPA)
These books are written for young readers, so children are expected to visit this site. It is built so that they can read all of it without giving anything up.
- No personal information is knowingly collected from a child under 13.
- Nowhere on this site is anyone asked their age, their birthdate, or what grade they are in.
- The one form is for adults, says so on the form itself, and asks children to hand it to a grown-up.
- There is nowhere for a child to post, comment, or upload anything.
- Children's information is never used for advertising, because no advertising happens here at all.
If a child under 13 has sent personal information anyway — through the form or by email — a parent or guardian can email jessyglazebooks@gmail.com to see it, have it deleted, or refuse any further collection. It will be deleted promptly, and no verification hoops will be put in the way of a deletion request.
If it becomes clear that something was collected from a child under 13 without a parent's consent, it will be deleted without waiting to be asked.
9. Your choices and rights
Anyone, anywhere, may email jessyglazebooks@gmail.com to ask what is held about them, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Requests are answered within 30 days. Nobody is treated differently for asking.
California residents
Under the CCPA you have the right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used and disclosed, to have it deleted, to correct it, to opt out of its sale or sharing, to limit the use of sensitive personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
Personal information is not sold, and it is not shared for cross-context behavioural advertising. There is therefore no “Do Not Sell or Share” mechanism to offer — there is nothing to opt out of.
Visitors in the UK and Europe
The data controller is Jessy Glazewski, contactable at the address above. Information is processed on these lawful bases: to take steps at your request and to perform an agreement, when arranging a school visit or fulfilling an order; to meet legal obligations, for tax and accounting records; and for the legitimate interest of keeping the site secure. Any future mailing list would rest on consent, withdrawable at any time.
You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or port your information, and to object to processing. Information is stored in the United States. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
10. Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change is significant — particularly anything affecting children — it will be said plainly on the site rather than slipped in quietly.
11. Contact
Questions, requests, or concerns: jessyglazebooks@gmail.com. A real person reads it.
